Ettiquette can Hide a multitude of sins

 Carolyn Bourne vs. Hiedi Withers
I have sympathy with the need for manners and etiquette, but I do not have sympathy with lack of compassion and rudeness from an older person to a younger person.

To inforce rules which basically humiliate and ridicule a person who may not have known this etiqutte in the first place, is unkind and shows Carolyn Bourne for the bully she is and I would not want to marry into a family where someone was prepared to set into a younger person.

My mother who is 70, experienced something similar with my father's family and was appalled by the report on the News, and the way that this woman dealt with someone who has quite a serious problem suffering diabetes, and it may be that this girl has to make a bigger fuss about it because they could have a dead person on their hands, and diabetes can cause lethagy and tiredness.
When manners overrides compassion and caring then  having manners is not worth very much at all.
In my veiw  manners and the strictness of rules adhered to in the the past has led to the gross overswing to we see today in girls behaviour.

Freedom to be ourselves and behave in a decent way would be altogther better.
